Role Description

The Head Lifeguard is a full-time, on-site role based in Doha, Qatar, responsible for overseeing all lifeguard activities and ensuring a safe aquatic environment. Daily responsibilities include supervising pool areas, monitoring swimmers, enforcing safety rules, and responding promptly and effectively to emergencies. The Head Lifeguard will organize and lead lifeguard schedules, conduct regular safety briefings and drills, and ensure equipment and facilities are properly inspected and maintained. This role also involves supporting the independent swim coach during training sessions, coordinating with facility staff, and providing clear guidance to both swimmers and lifeguard team members. The Head Lifeguard is expected to model professional behavior and promote a culture of safety, respect, and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Strong aquatic safety skills, including advanced swimming ability, water rescue techniques, and confident supervision of busy pool environments.
• Demonstrated leadership and team coordination abilities, with experience guiding lifeguard staff or similar safety teams.
• Current lifeguard, CPR, and first aid certifications from a recognized authority, or the ability to obtain them before starting.
• Clear, calm communication skills for interacting with swimmers, families, coaches, and facility personnel.
• Proven ability to remain alert, make quick decisions in high-pressure situations, and follow established emergency protocols.
• High level of reliability, professionalism, and adherence to safety and hygiene standards in an aquatic setting.
• Experience working in swim coaching, recreational aquatics, or sports facilities is an advantage.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, according to pool and training schedules.
