Job summary

GEMS American Academy in Qatar is seeking a dedicated Lower School French teacher (Semi Part Time) to join ASAP. The successful candidate will deliver the French curriculum, plan engaging lessons and adapt teaching to diverse learning styles.

The role requires strong classroom management, use of ICT in teaching, and collaboration with colleagues and parents. Applicants should hold a B.Ed or a Bachelor's in French with PGCE/PGDE or equivalent L5 teaching qualification and have at least two years

Qualifications

• Hold a B.Ed or Bachelor's degree in French language or relevant field with PGCE/PGDE or equivalent L5 teaching qualification.
• Knowledge of ICT in schools to aid teaching and learning.
• Skilled teacher with strong subject knowledge in relevant area.
• Excellent communication skills able to build relationships with students and colleagues.
• Has at least 2 years teaching experience in relevant subject area/age group.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver quality French lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
• Deliver the required curriculum with up-to-date knowledge of content.
• Assess, record and report student progress to inform planning.
• Maintain classroom environment and manage behavior effectively.
• Collaborate with colleagues on materials, assessment and CPD.
• Engage with parents and participate in school events and committees.
