Job summary

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Fire Alarm Technician role based in Doha. The Fire Alarm Technician is responsible for installing, configuring, testing, and commissioning fire alarm systems and related safety devices at client locations. Daily tasks include performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting system faults to ensure proper operation and compliance with applicable standards. The role involves reading and interpreting technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer manuals, as well as preparing basic service reports and documentation. The technician will coordinate with supervisors, project engineers, and clients on site, follow all safety procedures, and support emergency call-outs or after-hours work as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong technical skills in installing, wiring, and commissioning fire alarm systems, control panels, detectors, and related equipment.
• Ability to perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs for fire alarm and safety systems, including use of testing tools and meters.
• Knowledge of relevant fire safety codes, standards, and local regulations in Qatar, with a focus on compliance and safe work practices.
• Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics, layout drawings, and technical documentation for system installation and maintenance.
• Effective communication and customer service skills to interact with clients, supervisors, and team members on site.
• Basic computer skills for documenting service work, preparing reports, and updating maintenance records.
• Prior experience as a fire alarm technician or in a similar fire protection or low-current systems role is highly desirable.
• Relevant technical diploma or certification in electrical, electronics, or fire protection systems preferred.
• Ability to work on-site in Doha, including at heights or in confined spaces when required, and to follow all health, safety, and PPE guidelines.
• Flexibility to support shift work, emergency call-outs, and field assignments across different client locations.
