Job summary

Novotel & ibis Balikpapan is seeking a senior financial professional to lead planning, budgeting, and revenue management for the hotel. The role oversees financial reporting, cash flow, and internal controls while driving cost efficiency and profitability across all departments.

The position requires 5–8 years in finance/accounting with at least 2–3 years in management, strong knowledge of accounting principles, and proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–8 years of finance or accounting experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and data analysis; knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, internal controls, and tax regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare annual budgets forecasts and business plans.
• Monitor departmental budgets and expenses.
• Analyze variances between actual and budgeted results.
• Monitor room revenue, F&B revenue and other income streams.
• Analyze occupancy rates, ADR and RevPAR.
• Work closely with sales and revenue management teams to maximize profitability.
• Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and annual financial reports including P&L statements, balance sheets and cash flow reports.
• Present financial performance reports to hotel management and owners.
• Manage hotel cash flow, working capital and bank accounts.
• Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable; ensure timely collection.
• Review payroll processes and ensure accurate processing of salaries, benefits and statutory payments.
• Control operating costs across all departments and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Review purchasing activities and inventory usage; oversee inventory controls and depreciation records.
• Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations and company policies.
• Safeguard hotel assets and coordinate audits and corrective actions.
• Lead and supervise the finance and accounting department; provide coaching and performance feedback.
• Provide financial analysis for hotel projects, investments and operations.

Financial Planning, Budgeting and Revenue Management

• Prepare annual budgets forecasts and business plans

• Analyze occupancy rates Average Daily Rate ADR and Revenue per Available Room RevPAR

Cost Control and Asset Management

• Control operating costs across all departments and identify cost‑saving opportunities

Internal Controls, Compliance and Audit

• Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures ensuring compliance with accounting standards tax regulations and company policies
• Safeguard hotel assets and prevent fraud
• Coordinate internal and external audits implement audit recommendations and corrective actions

Team Leadership and Development

• Lead and supervise the finance and accounting department
• Train develop and evaluate finance staff
• Provide coaching and performance feedback

Strategic Financial Analysis

• Provide financial analysis for hotel projects investments and operational improvements
• Support management decision-making through financial insights and business opportunity evaluation

Minimum 5 8 years of finance or accounting experience At least 2 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role Previous experience in the hospitality or hotel industry is highly preferred
