Job summary

Baker Hughes in Doha, Qatar is looking for a Field Coordinator Specialist to lead on-site maintenance of rotating machines, including gas turbines and centrifugal compressors. You will execute work according to technical instructions and guide field teams to deliver safe, efficient service on customer sites.

The role emphasizes strong communication, leadership, and the ability to allocate tasks effectively within a site team, with a focus on safety, quality and timely repairs.

Qualifications

• A degree in mechanical and/or instrumentation or equivalent.
• 5+ years in a maintenance/field support role with relevant experience.
• Experience in logistics, maintenance or systems engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform curative and preventive maintenance on rotating machines (gas turbine, centrifugal compressor, and accessories).
• Follow work instructions issued by the technical authority on site.
• Disassemble and inspect rotating components, perform measurements and reassembly.
• Conduct NDT and welding activities as required.
• Ensure adherence to company procedures and safety standards during outages.
• Coordinate tasks and communicate effectively with on-site teams.

Partner with the best

Perform Curative and Preventive maintenance work on rotating machines (Gas turbine, centrifugal. Compressor, and their accessory machines) on customers’ site/property. These activities contribute to, maintain, repair and refurbish Rotating products. Includes all types of maintenance service (preventive and remedial). Outage execution as per operational excellence concept to reach safety, Quality and lead time requirements.

As a Field Coordinator Specialist, you will also be responsible for:

• Perform curative and preventive maintenance work on rotating machines (gas turbine, centrifugal compressor, and their accessory machines).
• Understand and apply the work instruction given by the technical authority at site (FSE, Supervisor)
• Disassembly of rotating machine elements (Mechanical and/or instrumentation)
• Cleaning of dismantled components.
• Instrumentation test and Calibration. Inspections and dimensional control of dismantled parts
• Repair work such as drilling and tapping. Replacement of the spare part
• Reassembly of rotating machine elements. Read and perform precise measurements on machine elements
• Perform non-destructive test such as NDT. Welding Activities
• Reassembly of rotating machine elements. Ensure compliance with the application of company procedures

To be successful in this role you will:

A degree from an accredited university or college in mechanical and/or instrumentation studies (or a high school diploma with at least 05 years of experience in a support or maintenance engineering position)

Desired Characteristics:

• Additional experience in logistics, maintenance, or systems engineering is preferred
• Rigging and cranes operations is a plus. Good oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Knowledge of related product support activities
• Ability to evolve in groups and convey urgency in customer needs and concerns
• Ability to evolve within a team and distribute tasks to be performed on the customer’s site
