Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Operations
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily and weekly production activities.
- Ensure timely execution of cutting, polishing, edging, fabrication, and finishing processes.
- Monitor production output to meet delivery timelines and customer requirements.
- Optimize machinery utilization and minimize production downtime.
- Selection of material that is suitable and in sufficient quantity that can cover the project needs.
2. Quality Control
- Implement and monitor quality standards for marble slabs, tiles, and customized items.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure products meet company and client specifications.
- Take corrective actions on defects, rework, and non-conformance issues.
3. Team Management
- Supervise and lead production supervisors, machine operators, technicians, and labor workforce.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure proper training for staff.
- Promote teamwork, discipline, and safety practices across the production floor.
4. Machinery & Maintenance
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance for cutting machines, polishing lines, CNC machines, and other equipment.
- Ensure maximum machine efficiency and minimize breakdowns.
- Work with the maintenance team to schedule servicing and repair tasks.
5. Inventory & Material Management
- Monitor raw materials, consumables, and tools required for production.
- Ensure accurate stock levels of marble blocks, slabs, adhesives, blades, and other items.
- Coordinate with procurement for timely replenishment of materials.
- Selection of material quality that is suitable to each order needs.
- Decides the suitable and economic resources to be used in fabrication.
6. Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and factory regulations.
- Implement safety protocols and conduct training for workers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
7. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly production reports.
- Maintain records of production output, wastage, machine performance, and workforce productivity.
- Provide analysis and recommendations for improving efficiency and reducing costs.
- Provide detailed cost for price estimates in pricing stage especially for decorative works.
- Provide standard fabrication costing with continuous updates.
- Provide detailed schedule of production for each project after award of the works.
KPIs:
1- Customer Order Cycle Time
- Reduction of the total duration from order placement to final delivery, ensuring customer satisfaction
- Achieving a competitive advantage in utilization of resources increasing productivity
- Increase the customer acquisition rate.
2- Cost Per Unit Manufactured
- Reducing and monitoring of the total direct and indirect costs to produce a one unit (cutting, profiling, polishing, sawing and treatment…etc.), serving as a foundational metric for pricing strategies and cost control. Increasing the opportunity to compete in the market.
- Maintain and reduce the waste percentage in fabrication to the percentage planned.
- Re-usage and/or Re-sale of the waste and transformation to end product. (Recycling of wastage)
- Reduction of scrap percentage, recycling and turning to revenue.
4- Equipment readiness and maintenance cost
- Machineries and equipment periodical maintenance management and efficiency.
