Job summary

Minor Hotels is seeking a seasoned Engineering Leader to oversee the engineering team at Banana Island Resort Doha By Anantara. You will supervise daily operations, coordinate maintenance, and ensure guest-focused facilities management in a luxury resort setting.

The role requires 3-5 years in hotel engineering with strong HVAC, electrical, and mechanical knowledge, plus a solid safety and compliance mindset.

Qualifications

• Diploma or technical certification in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in hotel engineering or facility maintenance.
• Prior supervisory or team-leading experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and maintenance systems.
• Good understanding of safety standards and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily engineering operations, assigning tasks.
• Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance for hotel equipment.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests to minimize guest impact.
• Assist with planning schedules, manpower allocation, and priorities.
• Ensure health, safety, and fire life safety regulations are met.
• Monitor energy usage and support cost-reduction initiatives.
• Maintain maintenance records and reports.
• Coordinate with departments to support hotel operations.
• Coach and develop engineering team members.
• Manage external contractors and ensure safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily engineering operations, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
• Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance is carried out for all hotel equipment, rooms, and public areas.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and breakdowns to minimize guest impact.
• Support the Chief Engineer in planning schedules, manpower allocation, and maintenance priorities.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and fire life safety regulations at all times.
• Monitor energy consumption and support initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and reports.
• Coordinate with other departments to support smooth hotel operations.
• Assist with training, coaching, and performance development of engineering team members.
• Supervise external contractors and ensure quality and safety standards are met.
