Job summary

Minor Hotels at Banana Island Resort Doha By Anantara seeks a Maintenance Engineer to lead daily engineering operations, supervise the engineering team, and ensure preventive and corrective maintenance across hotel facilities. The role focuses on delivering safe, efficient, and guest-focused services with adherence to brand standards.

The candidate will support planning, scheduling, and coordination with other departments, while maintaining records and driving energy-efficiency initiatives.

Qualifications

• Diploma or technical certification in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in hotel engineering or facility maintenance.
• Prior supervisory or team-leading experience preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and general maintenance systems.
• Good understanding of safety standards, preventive maintenance and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily engineering operations, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
• Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance is carried out for all hotel equipment, rooms and public areas.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and breakdowns to minimize guest impact.
• Support the Chief Engineer in planning schedules, manpower allocation and maintenance priorities.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and fire life safety regulations at all times.
• Monitor energy consumption and support initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and reports.
• Coordinate with other departments to support smooth hotel operations.
• Assist with training, coaching, and performance development of engineering team members.
• Supervise external contractors and ensure quality and safety standards are met.
