Job summary

Anantara Hotels & Resorts seeks a General Technician at Banana Island Resort Doha By Anantara to perform general maintenance, repairs, and preventive tasks across the hotel's facilities.

You will ensure equipment and systems operate safely and efficiently, respond to maintenance requests, and support the engineering team while upholding Anantara's standards of hospitality.

Experience in hotel maintenance, basic electrical/plumbing knowledge, and flexibility to work shifts including weekends.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hotel maintenance or facilities management preferred.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Physically fit and able to perform maintenance duties as required.
• Relevant technical qualification or vocational training is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily preventive and corrective maintenance work throughout the hotel.
• Inspect and repair basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general building-related issues.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from hotel departments and guests.
• Assist with troubleshooting and repair of hotel equipment and facilities.
• Perform routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and engineering facilities.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good condition.
• Support other engineering team members with maintenance and repair activities.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with hotel safety standards and procedures.
• Report major defects, equipment failures, or safety hazards to the Engineering Supervisor.
• Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance work.
• Assist with energy-saving initiatives and ensure equipment is operated efficiently.
• Follow all health, safety, fire, and environmental regulations.
• Provide professional and courteous service to guests and colleagues at all times.
