Job summary

Crew Life at Sea Ltd. is seeking an experienced engineering leader to develop and implement a comprehensive operating strategy for the hotel’s engineering division in Doha, Qatar.

The role involves budget oversight, payroll coordination and collaboration with hotel leadership to align engineering activities with the brand’s business goals. Responsibilities

• Develops an engineering operating strategy aligned with the hotel brand's business strategy.
• Assists in the overall operations of engineering department including payroll and labor budget.
• Co-Responsible for compliance of internal and external audits related to Safety, Quality Assurance Engineering, Fire Inspections, Hotel Major Equipment, OSHA and ADA.
• Oversees capital construction and major maintenance projects.
• Develops the preventive maintenance program of equipment and water systems to ensure safety and comfort of associates and guests.
• Maintains knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; ensures proper operation, maintenance and repair of all equipment including heaters, pumps, valves, refrigerant systems, air compressors, gas lines, water distribution, motors, locks, locksmith duties, electrical and carpentry work.
• Monitors associate performance and rectifies deficiencies; supports hiring, employee relations, disciplinary action, training and evaluations.

Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develops an engineering operating strategy that is aligned with the hotel/brand's business strategy.
• Responsible for assisting in the overall operations of engineering department including payroll, department labor budget and hotel capital budget.
• Co-Responsible for compliance of hotels internal and external audits related to: Safety, Quality Assurance Engineering, Fire Inspections, Hotel Major Equipment, OSHA and ADA
• Responsible for overseeing capital construction and major maintenance projects.
• Responsible for developing the preventive maintenance program of equipment, in addition to the rooms program, to ensure the safety and comfort of all associates and guests.
• Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment only as intended. Ensure the proper operation, maintenance and repair of all to include but not limited to:

• Heaters, pumps, valves and lines used in the distribution of steam and heated or processed water.
• Refrigerant compressors, condensers, evaporators, traps, transfer pumps, expansion valves, stop valves as well as all refrigerant lines and devices used to control temperatures.
• Air compressors along distribution lines and all valves and devices for air control.
• Natural and manufactured gas and distribution lines, including all valves and control devices.
• Water filters, softeners, piping and pumps used in conjunction with water distribution, including all sinks and toilet bowls, as well as supply lines and water lines.
• All types of motors or engines used to power pumps, compressors and fans.
• All types of locks, keys and locksmith related duties.
• All electrical work and repairs.
• All carpentry work, and those duties related to carpentry.

• Monitor associate performance in all phases of job functions ensuring that all procedures are carried out to departmental standards; rectify any deficiencies with respective personnel.
• Support the hotel philosophy concerning hiring, employee relations, disciplinary action, training, counseling, evaluating, etc.
