Job summary

IRM Energy & Technology seeks an experienced piping design lead for offshore facilities in Qatar. You will design safe offshore piping layouts, review 3D models, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to meet project requirements.

The role emphasizes Brownfield and Greenfield layout work, material selection, and stress analysis to ensure safe, reliable operations of onshore assets. A strong offshore background and corrosion control knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Offshore piping layout experience required (8+ years).
• Brownfield piping layout and design experience (5+ years).

Responsibilities

• Design safe offshore piping layouts in compliance with industry standards.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to meet project requirements.
• Develop Greenfield and Brownfield layouts considering operational needs.
• Review 3D models for clashes, constructability, and layout efficiency.
• Select corrosion-resistant materials and protective coatings.
• Evaluate materials based on process conditions and environmental factors.
• Optimize material selection for cost, durability, fabrication, and maintenance.
• Assess piping stresses from thermal expansion, pressure, temperature, and dynamic loads.
• Use stress analysis software to verify piping integrity and optimize designs.

Lead the Contractor in the Compression offshore facilities layout and Piping design to ensure a safe, efficient and reliable operation of the Onshore Assets in accordance with established policies, procedures, instructions and schedule targets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design safe offshore piping layouts in compliance with industry standards.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to meet project requirements.
• Develop Greenfield and Brownfield layouts considering operational needs.
• Review 3D models for clashes, constructability, and layout efficiency.
• Select corrosion-resistant materials and protective coatings.
• Evaluate materials based on process conditions and environmental factors.
• Optimize material selection for cost, durability, fabrication, and maintenance.
• Assess piping stresses from thermal expansion, pressure, temperature, and dynamic loads.
• Use stress analysis software to verify piping integrity and optimize designs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of offshore industry experience with mandatory piping layout knowledge.
• Minimum 5 years of Brownfield piping layout and design experience.

Skills and Competencies

• Experience in Greenfield offshore facility layout design and piping requirements.
• Knowledge of Brownfield piping modifications, retrofits, and tie-in requirements.
• Understanding of piping design codes and standards.
• Knowledge of piping stress analysis, report interpretation, FIV, and AIV.
• Understanding of material selection, compatibility, and process conditions.
• Ensure piping design meets quality, safety, schedule, and cost requirements.
