Job summary

Petrotec Group in Qatar is seeking a Design Engineer to develop, optimize, and refine LV switchboard designs ensuring manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with client specs and production capabilities.

You will create detailed drawings, perform calculations and simulations, collaborate with production and QA teams, and lead design reviews while maintaining comprehensive technical documentation for successful project delivery.

Qualifications

Graduate or Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Instrumentation/Electronics or related)
Experience in LV switchgear design and protection schemes
Ability to interpret customer specifications and develop cost-effective technical solutions

Responsibilities

Create detailed engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for LV switchgear and panels.
Collaborate with production, QA and procurement to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective.
Perform design calculations, simulations, and prototype testing to validate concepts.
Optimize existing designs to improve manufacturability, reduce costs, and enhance performance.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company guidelines.
Prepare BOMs, assembly instructions, and maintenance manuals; support design reviews and production trials.
Suggest process improvements and liaise with clients for design changes.
Stay updated with manufacturing technologies and design software.
