Job summary

Qatar Airways Group is seeking a Defect Control Engineer-Level II for Line Maintenance Production Control in Doha. The role focuses on advancing aircraft airworthiness, managing deferred defects, and providing in-depth technical recommendations to prevent recurring issues.

Key duties include overseeing deferred defects, performing troubleshooting reviews, and coordinating with Supply Chain, Engineering and MOCC. Requires multiple aircraft certifications and 5+ years in related roles.

Qualifications

• High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification /Diploma or Equivalent with minimum 5 years of job-related experience OR
• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with minimum 4 years of job-related experience
• Minimum 05 Years of Certifying Experience.
• Degree or Equivalent Diploma/License in Aircraft Maintenance.
• Minimum 02 type Authorization in QR Fleet.
• QCAA B1 or B2 License.
• In-depth knowledge of company/regulatory procedures.

Responsibilities

• Management of the fleet Deferred Defects and ensure all are updated to the expected quality level before due date.
• Provide troubleshooting recommendations following Technical Documentations review and reflected in TSR/DDs to support Technical Production.
• Analyze recurrent defects to prevent repeats and escalate where needed.
• Monitor fleet defects through OEM health monitoring platforms and provide rectification recommendations in TSR.
• Support Fleet manager with information and reports as required by the business.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, Planning and MOCC to initiate CRMs, maintenance slot requests, and component logistics.
• Provide on-demand technical guidance during Doha AOG and OOS events.
• Participate in daily production meetings including Morning Operational and Delay defect review sessions.
• Ensure compliance with legislative and company procedures and strive to achieve aircraft targets.
• Perform other department duties as directed by the Head of Department.

Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent

Aircraft Maintenance Degree/License

Minimum 05 Years Certifying Experience
