Job summary

Malomatia in Doha, Qatar, seeks an experienced BI/Data Platform lead to drive a team of BI developers across Power BI and OAS tracks. Lead architecture and delivery of modern data platforms, guiding on-prem and cloud implementations.

You will translate business analytics requirements into technical designs, oversee ETL/ELT pipelines, and establish standards for data modelling, ingestion, and data products. Arabic & English bilingualism is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS or related field.
• Extensive knowledge of data warehouse and lakehouse design and build.
• Experience with relational SQL, NoSQL and cloud data storage/architecture.
• 8+ years in BI/analytics with enterprise data warehouses.
• Experience producing design documents (FDD/DDD) and training materials.
• Knowledge of workload optimization, query performance and data engineering best practices.
• Experience defining and executing tests across development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design and implement on-prem and cloud data platforms (ODS, DW, data lakehouse).
• Lead data ingestion, pipelines, ETL/ELT, translating analytics needs into technical requirements.
• Define solution architecture, governance, tools; prepare technical docs.
• Drive standards for data modelling, ingestion and data products development.
• Manage versioning of work products and publish data model standards.
• Contribute to pre-sales by providing architecture writeups and proposal inserts.

• Team & Delivery Management
  • Lead and manage BI developers across OAS and Power BI tracks
  • Plan and assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery
  • Review team deliverables to ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency
  • Mentor and support team members technically
  • Coordinate UAT support and defect resolution
  • Ensure adherence to project timelines, scope, and quality standards

Responsibilities

• Architect, design and implement on-prem and on-cloud modern data platforms, RDBMS, operational data store (ODS), data marts, data warehouse, data Lakehouse and cloud storage.
• Lead the design, development, and deployment of data ingestion, data pipelines and ETL/ELT based data solutions. Translate business analytics requirements into technical requirements.
• Define solution architecture, design, governance, tools, and prepare technical documentation.
• Drive standards across the project, establish appropriate procedures for data modelling, data ingestion, and data products design, development and deployment.
• Manage work products versioning, contribute to and publish model management standards and practices for all types of data models including conceptual, logical and physical data models.
• Support pre-sales effort, provide proposal inserts for solution architecture design and writeup.

Qualifications

• A university degree in computer science or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Expert Knowledge of modern data warehouse & data Lakehouse design and build.
• Extensive knowledge and proven experience with relational SQL, NoSQL databases, and cloud based data storage and data architecture.
• 8–12 years of hands-on experience in Business Intelligence and analytics
• Demonstrated experience development of logical and physical design documents for different types of data models, solution architecture, and training materials.
• Expert knowledge of workload optimization, query performance, schema optimization and data engineering optimization best practices and methods
• Demonstrated experience in defining and executing tests across the development lifecycle (unit testing, system testing, user acceptance testing) and using results to refine database design.

Must Have:

• 8+ years experience working with enterprise data warehouses Demonstrated experience in creating both Functional Design Documents (FDD) & Detailed Design Documents (DDD).
• Strong hands-on experience with BI platforms (Oracle 12c, ODI, OAS and Power BI)
• Strong experience in data architecture, data modeling, semantic layer and KPI design.
• Proven experience leading BI or analytics teams
• Bilingual Arabic and English languages
