Job summary

Telford Offshore is seeking a Crane Operator for offshore operations on DP2/DP3 vessels. The role involves crane operation, gangway duties, rigging, and maintaining crane equipment. You will work under Chief Officer/Chief Engineer and coordinate with project teams.

Responsibilities include reviewing lift plans, conducting safety procedures, assisting with deck lifts, and acting as emergency team member. Mandatory certificates: Stage 3 Sparrows or Enermech Accredited.

  • Crane operator experience.

Job description

Crane Operator has control over lifting operations onboard.

The preferred candidate must have experience onboard DP2/DP3 vessels and have experience operating a Gangway.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor all rigging to ensure safe use and suitability for task.
  • Fulfil all maintenance requirements for Crane machinery and equipment as directed by the Chief Officer/ Chief Engineer.
  • Liaises with project team as required.
  • Assists with deck lifts and ensure work deck is secured at all times.
  • Maintain safety standards during projects working with project manager and clients.
  • Working within other departments as instructed by the Chief Officer/ Project Team.
  • Reviews lift plans, TRA’s and participates in TBTs with crew prior to routine lifts.
  • Participates in development of lift plans as needed.
  • Crane driver for ship’s activities.
  • Gangway Operator onboard.
  • Preparation and painting of the Cranes as required.
  • Washing down the cranes externally.
  • Internal cleanliness of cranes.
  • Maintenance of the cranes as instructed by the Chief Officer/Chief Engineer.
  • Acts as a member of the emergency team as dictated by the muster list.

  • Use and maintain all controls, procedures and safeguards provided for your protection, the protection of others and the protection of the environment. Do not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interests of Health, Safety or Environmental Protection.
  • Conform with the fire fighting and emergency procedures applicable to their place of work.
  • Be involved in the consultation process.
  • Participate in Toolbox Talks and Pre Job Safety Meetings. Attend HSE Meetings as required.
  • Use the correct protective clothing and equipment for work, in accordance with working procedures, ensuring that it is maintained in a safe condition and immediately report any known defects to their supervisor.
  • Report all accidents and personal injuries to their immediate supervisor.
  • Perform their work in accordance with their training such that they do not place themselves or others at risk. Co-operate with the Company in all efforts to protect the health and safety of yourself and others and protect the environment.
  • Use the main access ways as provided; comply with relevant safety signs, signals and notices. Do not enter any area where you may be placed at risk or do not have authorization to enter.
