About the Role
The Commercial Director leads Fusion Integrated Solutions’ (FIS) commercial strategy, revenue growth, key-account development, bid governance, contract negotiation, and commercial performance. The role converts market opportunities into profitable, sustainable customer relationships and contracted outcomes, working closely with executive leadership, sales, solution, delivery, finance, and partner teams.
Aligned to SFIA Level 6, the successful candidate will have significant organisational influence and provide commercial leadership across strategic customer and partner engagements. The role combines stakeholder relationship management, sales support, contract management, and supplier management with sound judgement on growth, margin, customer value, and commercial risk.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute FIS’s commercial strategy, revenue-growth plan, go-to-market priorities, account-development approach, and commercial operating rhythm.
- Lead strategic customer engagement, executive relationship management, opportunity qualification, and account-growth planning across target sectors.
- Own commercial governance for major opportunities, bids, tenders, proposals, pricing, commercial assumptions, risk positions, approvals, and contract negotiations.
- Direct the preparation and review of customer proposals, statements of work, pricing models, service schedules, contractual terms, and commercial presentations with solution, delivery, legal, finance, and partner teams.
- Establish and monitor sales pipeline, bookings, revenue, margin, renewals, forecasts, win rates, and account-performance measures; take corrective action where performance falls below plan.
- Lead negotiations for complex customer, supplier, and partner agreements, ensuring appropriate commercial, delivery, financial, compliance, and risk protections.
- Develop and maintain senior customer, vendor, technology-partner, and internal-stakeholder relationships that support profitable growth and successful delivery.
- Provide commercial leadership for customer escalations, contract changes, renewals, claims, performance reviews, and recovery plans.
- Collaborate with delivery and finance leaders to protect contractual compliance, delivery assumptions, billing readiness, margin, cash collection, and customer satisfaction.
- Build commercial capability through coaching, governance, reusable bid practices, market insight, and performance management.
Candidate Attributes
- A strategic, commercially astute leader with sound judgement on revenue, margin, risk, customer value, and long-term relationship outcomes.
- Strong executive communication, negotiation, presentation, and influencing skills, including the ability to explain complex commercial and technology propositions clearly.
- Ability to align sales, solution, delivery, finance, legal, vendor, and customer stakeholders around commercially viable decisions.
- An analytical, disciplined approach to pipeline management, forecasting, pricing, contract review, performance reporting, and commercial risk management.
- High integrity, ownership, and resilience when managing major bids, negotiations, escalations, competing priorities, and time-sensitive commitments.

- Proven success in complex B2B, technology, systems-integration, managed-service, government, enterprise, energy, financial-services, or comparable customer environments.
- Demonstrable experience owning sales pipelines, major bids, pricing, commercial negotiations, contracts, customer relationships, revenue and margin performance, and cross-functional deal governance.
