Confidential is seeking a Broadcast & Technology Engineer in Qatar to support the engineering, operation, maintenance, and performance of broadcast and media technology systems across the media hub. You will assist in studios, PCR/ACR, recording rooms, color grading suites, and related facilities.

The role involves system monitoring, fault diagnosis, preventive maintenance, and technical support to ensure availability and reliability of infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, broadcast/AV, telecoms, computer engineering, info tech or related field.
  • Professional engineering certification or relevant broadcast/AV certification is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot broadcast and media technology systems.
  • Support cameras, vision systems, audio systems, lighting, video servers, routers, switchers, intercoms, monitoring systems, and control room equipment.
  • Perform system configuration, testing, commissioning, and integration activities.
  • Conduct fault diagnosis and corrective maintenance (1st and 2nd line).
  • Monitor system performance and identify potential failures or interruptions.
  • Develop preventive maintenance schedules and technical inspection checklists.
  • Support installation, upgrades, replacement, and commissioning of broadcast and AV equipment.
  • Diagnose signal-flow, connectivity, hardware, software and network issues.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for maintenance and commissioning.
  • Review technical docs, drawings, specs, manuals and system architecture.

Job description

Broadcast & Technology Engineer is responsible for supporting the engineering, operation, maintenance, and technical performance of broadcast, AV, media production, and technology systems across the media hub, including production studios, PCR, ACR, recording rooms, screening rooms, multipurpose post-production rooms, color grading suites, podcast studios, and associated broadcast facilities.

The role performs system monitoring, configuration, testing, preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, and technical support to ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of broadcast and media technology infrastructure. The position works closely with the Manager and Lead – Broadcast & Technology, internal stakeholders, and external service providers to resolve technical issues and support projects, installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Technical Responsibilities
  • Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot broadcast and media technology systems.
  • Support cameras, vision systems, audio systems, lighting, video servers, routers, switchers, intercoms, monitoring systems, control room equipment, and associated infrastructure.
  • Perform system configuration, testing, commissioning, and integration activities.
  • Conduct first- and second-level fault diagnosis and corrective maintenance.
  • Monitor system performance and identify potential failures or service interruptions.
  • Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules and technical inspection checklists.
  • Support installation, upgrades, replacement, and commissioning of broadcast and AV equipment.
  • Diagnose signal-flow, connectivity, hardware, software, and network-related technical issues.
  • Coordinate with vendors and specialist contractors for maintenance, repair, integration, and commissioning activities.
  • Review technical documentation, drawings, specifications, equipment manuals, and system architecture.
  • Maintain accurate asset registers, maintenance records, technical logs, incident reports, and configuration documentation.
  • Support live productions, studio operations, events, recordings, and critical media activities.
  • Recommend technical improvements to enhance system reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable technical standards, HSE requirements, cybersecurity controls, and operational procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, Broadcast Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Media Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Professional engineering certification or relevant broadcast/AV certification is an advantage.
Minimum Experience
  • 3–5 years of relevant engineering experience in broadcast, media technology, AV, studio operations, telecommunications, or related technical environments.
  • Hands-on experience with broadcast studios, PCR/ACR, post-production, audio/video systems, signal routing, control rooms, or media infrastructure is preferred.
