Job summary

Carnegie Mellon University in Doha, Qatar is seeking a Staff Instructor for Biology to support introductory biology courses and biochemistry in the Biological Sciences Program. This is a full-time, on-site role starting September 15, 2026, for a one-year period, with opportunities for growth as part of the CMUQ campus.

The successful candidate will hold at least a bachelor’s (or master’s) degree in Biology and will work closely with the Area Head to advance teaching and educational outreach

Qualifications

• Bachelor or master degree in Biology.

Responsibilities

• Attend classes to support the instructor and assist with classroom activities.
• Develop course materials and set up labs and technology for assigned courses.
• Grade assignments, projects, and exams, and provide constructive feedback to students.
• Offer one-on-one support to students doing research projects.
• Plan and execute educational and outreach events for the campus and community.
• Hold office hours to help students understand course concepts.
• Proctor exams and supervise assessments.
• Support CMUQ’s education and research mission as assigned.
