Job summary

Qatar Airways Group is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic - Engine Shop based in Doha, Qatar. The role focuses on performing scheduled and unscheduled Engine/APU tasks with high safety and quality standards while maintaining tools and supporting AOG recovery.

Ideal candidates hold an ICAO Type 2 Basic license with 5+ years of maintenance experience and familiarity with Airbus/Boeing documentation. Diploma or degree in aircraft maintenance is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain allocated toolbox, inventory, and report damaged tools per TPM procedures.
• Provide support for internal and external AOG recovery as assigned.
• Adhere to engine maintenance SOPs and safety standards.

Job description

We are recruiting for Aircraft Mechanic - Engine Shop to be based in Doha, Qatar.

Aircraft Mechanic - Engine Facility will ensure to perform all scheduled and unscheduled Engine/APU maintenance tasks including BSI support as per engine facility capability and work scope requirement. Maintain tools, safety, housekeeping as per Company policy and ensure to maintain the highest possible maintenance standards.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Perform all scheduled and unscheduled Engine/APU maintenance tasks, BSI support as per Engine facility capability and work scope requirement and as directed by Engineer/Supervisor.
• Ensure to be fully conversant with accomplishing the tasks allocated and seek guidance in any area or tasks that is not familiar.
• Ensure to follow updated maintenance data and get familiar to access company documents related to Engine maintenance.
• Adhere to all pertinent safety precautions as published in manufacture's and company relevant publications on all tasks in relation to the accomplishment of scheduled, unscheduled engine maintenance tasks.
• Responsible to maintain allocated tool box as per updated inventory list, ensure return of borrowed tools at the end of shift, all equipment and tools are serviceable, and damaged or unserviceable tools are reported as per applicable TPM procedure.
• Ensure to report any incident, accidents as earliest to Engineer/Supervisors.
• Adhere all Engine maintenance related SOPs, tool box talks generated by Engineer/Supervisor.
• Responsible to always maintain highest housekeeping standards in Engine facility.
• Provide support in internal and external AOG recovery as allocated by EF Management.
• Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

About you

The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

Qualifications and Experience:

• Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance or Trade or vocational aircraft maintenance qualification or Degree (B.Eng., BSc) or equivalent in aircraft engineering.
  ICAO Type 2 Basic license with minimum 5 years Aircraft Maintenance experience (including apprenticeship).
• Airbus and Boeing documentation experience.
• Engine Module / Removal.
• Bore scope support experience.
• V2500, Trent 500, GE CF6-80E1, GE90, GENx, GP7000, Trent XWB build up and Maintenance experience will be an added advantage.
• Bore scope support experience for V2500, Trent 500, GE CF6-80E1, GE90, GTCP 331-250/350 and APS3200, GE Nx, GP7000 will be an added advantage.
• Engine Shop Experience.
