Job summary

Qatar Airways Group is seeking a Licensed Aircraft Engineer Level II - Borescope Inspection (BSI) to perform off-wing engine maintenance, borescope inspections and related module work under the license authority. You will assist with engine preservation, receipt and dispatch inspections, and ensure timely, airworthy outcomes.

The role requires strong knowledge of QCAA/QR standards, data management, and collaboration with the engineering team to meet scheduled targets and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 4 years of job-related experience.
• Holds minimum 2 engine type approvals or borescope approvals.
• Minimum of 5 years of job-related aircraft certifying experience.
• Borescope inspection and QEC/LRU build up experience across multiple specified engines.

Responsibilities

• Perform engine and APU receipt inspections.
• Dispatch inspections, engine transportations, and LRU build up with related certifications.
• Ensure work complies with maintenance standards and time targets.
• Maintain data and handover records and coordinate with QA/QC as required.

As a Licensed Aircraft Engineer, Level 2 – Engine Facility, you will be responsible to deliver off wing engine maintenance and rework activities with in their license authority. To support engine LRU build-up, Module Removal /Installations, Borescope Inspections, engine preservation /storage, receipt/ dispatch inspections, shipping and management of spare engine. To ensure the maintenance tasks are performed in an efficient and timely manner with low TAT to support QTR engine operation.

Operational Accountabilities;

Exercising his license/approval in relation to the Accomplishment of scheduled, unscheduled BSIs to support smooth operation of Qatar Airways aircraft engines.

Advising the Supervisor of any impending service disruptions, problems or areas of concern that may have an impact on the operating program.

To provide specialized knowledge skills and expertise and require ensuring safe, effective and efficient operation.

Perform engine/APU receipt inspections, dispatch inspections, engine transportations, fan split / mate, LRU build up, module removal / Installations and certifications to achieve on time targets of spare engine/APU production operation.

To use all available resources at disposal to ascertain that all maintenance including casualties on QR Aircraft engines is carried out to the highest possible Maintenance Standards and Safety in the most productive/proactive and cost-effective manner.

Ensure work processes are effective by complying QR work procedures and standards to improvements are required to engine maintenance.

Ascertain effective performance of tasks by checking engine maintenance tasks are accomplished in accordance with laid down policies and procedures of given time frame.

Meet scheduled requirements by maintaining component serviceability standards and implement solutions to engine technical problems.

Ensure scheduled/unscheduled tasks are performed to meet company’s set standards and targets in an efficient airworthiness manner.

Responsible for maintenance of various types of engines and configurations as per approved aircraft maintenance procedure manuals.

Maintaining engines as RFI (ready for installation) to meet planned targets of all scheduled /unscheduled engine changes.

Ensuring shift handover is in place and updated as per TPM.

Complying to update handover data base on every shift work pattern.

Liaising with data base group to ensure all data are up date to comply with technical network file server policy.

Maintaining the Engine Release to service authorization privilege are up date as per TPM and QCAA.

Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

Borescope inspection and QEC/LRU build up experience of V2500, Trent 500, Trent 700, Trent XWB, GE CF6-80E1, GE90, GENX, GP7000, PW4158, PW1000 engines. (Minimum two QTR engine type experience).

Ability to retrieve and read data from Technical Publications.

Sound knowledge of air legislation.

Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.

Using mathematics to solve problems.

Controlling operations of equipment or systems.

Excellent knowledge of computer software, specifically MS Office and Adobe acrobat.

Good understanding of Airbus and Boeing Aircraft Maintenance Manuals with reference to limitations.
