Job Summary

The Senior Advisor, Strategy supports the Director of Strategy in shaping and delivering the organization's long-term strategy and transformation programme.

The role translates strategic priorities into actionable initiatives, tracks their delivery, and ensures alignment across departments and stakeholders. It combines corporate strategy and business planning with execution oversight of the transformation agenda, cross-functional coordination, and advisory input on priority topics including market structure, liquidity, and investor participation.

The position requires strategic thinking, execution discipline, and the ability to operate credibly with senior leadership, regulators, and external partners.

Roles And Responsibilities

Lead Corporate Strategy & Business Planning

• Support the development and periodic refresh of the corporate strategy, ensuring alignment with national priorities and financial sector strategies
• Lead the annual business planning process, translating strategic priorities into clear objectives, initiatives, and KPIs across departments
• Develop and track strategic KPIs and performance metrics, ensuring alignment between strategy, budget, and execution
• Prepare high-quality materials for executive leadership and Board discussions, including strategy updates, performance reviews, and strategic options

Drive Strategic Initiatives & Transformation

• Support the delivery of the transformation programme, ensuring initiatives are clearly defined, prioritized, and tracked
• Work with initiative owners to resolve bottlenecks, align timelines, and drive execution discipline
• Contribute to the design and structuring of new strategic initiatives, such as product expansion, private markets, and ecosystem development

Enable Cross-Functional Alignment

• Act as a central coordination point across departments to ensure alignment on strategic priorities and initiatives
• Support governance forums, Senior Management Meetings, with structured updates, insights, and decision materials
• Drive stakeholder engagement across the organization, regulators, and external partners where relevant

Provide Strategic Insight & Advisory

• Lead or support deep-dive analyses on priority topics such as market structure, liquidity, investor participation, and international positioning
• Identify risks, opportunities, and emerging trends impacting strategy
• Provide thought leadership on capital markets development and exchange strategy

Requirements

• 15+ years in strategy consulting, capital markets, financial services, or a related field
• Strong track record in strategy development and/or large-scale transformation programmes
• Solid understanding of capital markets, market infrastructure, or financial sector development
• Confident operating at board and C-suite level, with strong communication and presentation skills
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or Law; CFA or master's degree an advantage
• Prior experience at a stock exchange or capital markets advisory firm
• Familiarity with MENA capital markets and the Qatar financial ecosystem
