Job summary

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in Doha, Qatar. The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial operations including bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries. Responsibilities include preparing financial statements and reports, monitoring project costs and budgets, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. The role also involves ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and local regulations, assisting with audits, and maintaining accurate documentation. The Accountant will collaborate with project managers, procurement, and senior leadership to provide clear financial insights that support decision-making.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in financial accounting and reporting, including general ledger management and preparation of financial statements.
• Proficiency in budgeting, cost control, and project accounting within construction, contracting, or related industries.
• Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and cash flow management.
• Ability to use accounting and ERP software, along with solid MS Excel skills for analysis and reporting.
• Knowledge of relevant accounting standards and local financial regulations in Qatar or the GCC region.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) are an advantage.
• Prior experience in construction, contracting, or engineering environments is preferred.
• Ability to work on-site full-time in Doha, Qatar, and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
