Jumia is seeking a Treasury professional to oversee payment execution, cash control, and financial governance across diverse markets in Africa. You will work with local finance teams, banks, and partners to ensure accurate master data, timely payments, and strong audit readiness.

Fluent English is required, French is a plus. This role offers exposure to multi-country treasury operations and opportunities to automate processes using cutting-edge tools and AI-driven workflows.

Qualificações

Why this role

You will see the whole payment chain, from the request raised in an operating company to the cash leavingthe bank, across all our African markets and the Group's central entities.

What you will be doing

• Payment execution: Suppliers, logistics partners and sellers across Africa get paid because you moved. Every working day you run the payment cycle for your countries: each request checked against its approval flow, executed through our in-house payouts module and the banking portals, and chased down when it fails.


• Cash control: You are the person who knows where the money is. Balances tracked across your markets, funding gaps spotted before anyone downstream feels them, and nothing leaving the bank that was not forecast.


• Financial control: Bank accounts and payee records are the front door of the company, and you hold the keys: bank master data, beneficiary details, changes to bank details, account openings and closures for your countries.


• Stakeholder communication: Local finance and operations teams, banks and payment providers all come to you. More than ten countries, several time zones, and no two banking relationships quite alike.


• Audit support: Jumia is listed in New York, so the cash you handle gets tested. At quarter and year end you build the evidence behind it, from bank confirmations and reconciliation inputs to SOX controls, and you are the one the auditors come to with their questions.


• Better ways of working: The job we hire you into should not be the job you are doing a year from now. We would rather kill a manual step than repeat it, through process, through our payment systems, or through the AI tooling we are rolling out across finance.

What we are looking for

• Educational background: Degree in Accounting, Management, Finance, or equivalent training.


• Analytical prowess: You chase the number that does not tie until it explains itself.


• Control mindset: You notice the request that does not look right, and you say so.


• Precision: Payments are unforgiving. A wrong digit is somebody's missing money and your afternoon gone.


• Tech-savvy: You pick up a new system without hand-holding, you are at ease working with data, and you would rather automate a repetitive task than get good at repeating it.


• Adaptability: Legal entities across Africa, Europe and the UAE, each with its own banks, rules and rhythm.


• Communication: Fluent in English, written and spoken. French is a plus for our francophone markets.

These skills are not mandatory, but will help you stand out

• Previous experience in treasury operations.


• You have pushed real payments through a banking portal or a payments platform.


• Exposure to African markets, foreign exchange restrictions or cash repatriation.


• Experience working with Citibank platforms, Citibank ...
