The Bosch Group, Inc. is seeking a Software Developer Validation Engineer to join the Ground Truth Team in Portugal. You will contribute to validating perception functions for autonomous driving and help build high-performance labelling and evaluation toolchains.

You will translate requirements into robust software, develop post-processing workflows, and implement KPIs to assess perception and ground-truth performance, collaborating across international teams.

Qualificações

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related technical field.
• Experience in Python development, ML, perception or autonomous driving.
• Familiarity with sensor data from radar/LiDAR/cameras is advantageous.

Responsabilidades

Job Description

Your contribution to something big:

As part of our Ground Truth Team, you will contribute to the validation of perception functions for autonomous driving. One of the key challenges in this field is the need for large amounts of accurately labelled sensor data, which is still often generated through manual processes.

Your mission will be to help address this challenge by developing and evaluating solutions for the automatic labelling of sensor data and assessing their performance across different sensor technologies.

Make the future a reality: Develop high-performance, robust and innovative ground truth toolchains for complex sensor setups, including LiDAR, radar and camera, supporting perception applications for autonomous driving.

Drive engineering excellence: Translate perception requirements into ground truth solutions, develop innovative post-processing toolchains and implement performance evaluation scripts and KPIs to assess both perception and ground truth performance.

Enable data-driven development: Work with large-scale sensor data and contribute to solutions that support the development and validation of ADAS and autonomous driving perception functions.

Take responsibility: Act as a key enabler for other development teams by openly communicating the opportunities and limitations of the developed solutions and providing feedback to perception teams based on your performance evaluations.

Collaborate: Work closely with colleagues from different technical areas in an international and interdisciplinary environment, contributing your ideas and technical expertise.

Qualifications

What distinguishes you:

Education

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics, Electronic Engineering or a comparable technical field.

Experience:

• Experience in software development using Python, ideally in the context of machine learning, sensor data processing, perception or autonomous driving.
• Experience working with sensor data from radar, LiDAR and/or camera systems is an advantage.

Know-how

• Good knowledge of Python, Linux, Docker and PyTorch, as well as common development and DevOps tools such as Git.
• Familiar with writing well-structured, maintainable and reliable code. Knowledge of perception and/or sensor fusion architectures, sensor raw-data analysis and ADAS data requirements is an advantage.

Languages

• Very good written and spoken English skills, enabling you to communicate effectively in an international environment.

Working Style and Methods

• You work in an analytical, structured and results-oriented way and are comfortable translating complex technical requirements into practical software solutions.
• Experience working in an agile development environment is a plus.

Personality

• You enjoy collaborative problem-solving and exchanging ideas across teams.
• You are curious about software, machine learning and autonomous driving technologies and are motivated to contribute to data-driven development.
