Apex Group Ltd in Lisbon is seeking a Senior Consultant within Corporate Solutions to deliver high-quality accounting, financial reporting and tax compliance services to a diverse client portfolio.

You will work closely with clients, support junior team members and contribute to the continued growth of our Portugal Corporate Solutions practice, developing technical and client-management skills in a global organisation.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• Certified Accountant (Contabilista Certificado) or progressing towards qualification.
• Minimum 3 years' accounting experience, including strong exposure to Portuguese tax compliance.
• Strong knowledge of Portuguese taxation (IVA, IRC and IES).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.

Responsabilidades

• Manage the accounting and bookkeeping activities for a portfolio of Portuguese and international clients.
• Review accounting records and ensure compliance with Portuguese GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Prepare and review statutory financial statements.
• Prepare and submit VAT, Corporate Income Tax (IRC), IES and other regulatory filings.
• Act as a Certified Accountant (Contabilista Certificado) including review and signing of financial statements and tax returns where required.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and external stakeholders.
• Support and mentor junior consultants, providing guidance and technical expertise.
• Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, banks and other third parties.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance service delivery.
• Ensure all client deliverables are completed accurately and within deadlines.

Senior Consultant - Corporate Solutions (Accounting)

Location: Lisbon, Portugal

The Role

As a Senior Consultant within our Corporate Solutions team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting, financial reporting and tax compliance services to a diverse portfolio of local and international clients. You will work closely with clients, support junior team members and contribute to the continued growth of Apex Group's Corporate Solutions business in Portugal.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the accounting and bookkeeping activities for a portfolio of Portuguese and international clients.


• Review accounting records and ensure compliance with Portuguese GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.


• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.


• Prepare and review statutory financial statements.


• Prepare and submit VAT, Corporate Income Tax (IRC), IES and other regulatory filings.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Essential

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.


• Certified Accountant (Contabilista Certificado) or actively progressing towards qualification.


• Minimum 3 years' accounting experience, including strong exposure to Portuguese tax compliance and Portuguese GAAP.


• Experience preparing financial statements and statutory reporting.


• Strong knowledge of Portuguese taxation, including IVA, IRC and IES.


• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.


• Experience working with accounting and ERP systems.


• Fluent English, both written and spoken.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.


• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.

Desirable

• Experience working within an accounting outsourcing, professional services or corporate services environment.


• Exposure to international clients and multinational organisations.


• Experience reviewing the work of junior team members.
