Planet is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale high-performance backend services in a hybrid cloud environment. You will shape API design, data models, and system architecture to support modern applications and evolving workloads for a RESTful backend consumed by Angular frontends.

You will implement efficient MongoDB schemas, optimize queries and caching, and design stateless services for horizontal scalability, including AI-enabled data workflows where relevant.

Qualificações

• Experience building scalable backends with REST APIs.
• Strong knowledge of Node.js and TypeScript.
• Experience with MongoDB data modeling and performance tuning.

Responsabilidades

• Design and develop RESTful APIs using Node.js.
• Build backend services optimized for Angular frontend consumption.
• Ensure consistency in API structure and response formats.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
• Design efficient MongoDB schemas aligned with application and data usage patterns.
• Optimize queries, indexing strategies, and aggregation pipelines.
• Structure data models to support analytics and AI use cases.
• Architect systems for high throughput and low latency.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Implement caching strategies (Redis or similar).
• Design stateless services for horizontal scalability.
• Design predictable, frontend-friendly REST endpoints.
• Optimize payloads for Angular services and UI performance.
• Implement pagination, filtering, and consistent error handling.
• Support integration of AI-powered features (insights, automation, recommendations).
• Expose clean, structured data usable by AI/ML and LLM-based systems.
• Contribute to pragmatic use of data pipelines or AI services.

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale high-performance backend services. This role focuses on building clean REST APIs for Angular frontends, operating in a hybrid cloud environment, and integrating AI-driven features and data workflows where relevant.

Who you are

Core Skills: strong experience with Node.js (TypeScript preferred), solid expertise in MongoDB (schema design, indexing, aggregation), strong experience designing REST APIs

System & Data Design: Experience building scalable backend systems, understanding of data models supporting AI-enabled applications

Nice to Have: experience integrating AI/ML or LLM-based services, knowledge of data pipelines or RAG-style architectures, high availability systems
