emagine in Portugal is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design and implement scalable backend services, shaping architecture and delivering robust features. You will work across C#, .NET, Java, and Go, leveraging cloud platforms, containers, and automated testing to ensure performance and reliability.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, own critical components, and apply AI tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining code quality and on-call readiness.

Qualificações

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.
• 4+ years of software development experience.
• Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining highly scalable, reliable, and performant backend systems.
• Knowledge of software engineering principles, algorithms, data structures, and Object-Oriented Design.
• Coding skills in C# .NET, Java, and/or Go.
• Knowledge of relational & non-relational databases (e.g: Aurora, DynamoDB, Redis).
• Knowledge of cloud systems (e.g: AWS, Azure).
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (K8s).
• Good communication skills and fluency in English.
• Availability to be part of the 24x7 on-call rotation.

• Ability to work with different AI models and understand their trade-offs.
• Experience managing multi-turn conversations with AI and iteratively refining solutions.
• Skill in designing and implementing agent-based workflows for code review, testing, and architectural decisions.
• Understanding of when to validate vs. trust AI output; maintaining code quality standards with AI assistance.
• Experience using AI for rapid prototyping, test generation, and performance optimization analysis.
