Sword Health is seeking an Internal AI Solutions Engineer to transform internal processes using Generative AI. You’ll partner with the Operations team to identify bottlenecks, design AI-powered tools, and implement end-to-end solutions that improve efficiency across the company.

You will translate business problems into pragmatic AI applications, integrate LLM workflows, and own projects from discovery through deployment and iteration. A proactive, autonomous mindset is essential.

Qualificações

• 3+ years in software engineering, automation, AI engineering, or similar.
• Proficiency in JavaScript (React, Node.js) and/or Python.
• Experience building software solutions and integrating systems via APIs.
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or equivalents.
• Proficiency in SQL and data-driven decision making.
• Strong continuous improvement mindset.

Role:

The Internal AI Solutions Team leads the transformation of the company's internal processes through Generative AI, improving how teams operate across the organization.

We work closely with business teams to understand how work actually gets done, identify opportunities to simplify and redesign processes, and build AI powered solutions that create measurable operational impact.

We're a small, highly autonomous team with a working style similar to an early stage company. Roles are highly generalist, and we value people who are proactive, pragmatic, and comfortable moving from understanding a business problem to designing and implementing the solution.

For this role, you will work particularly closely with the Operations team, helping identify and solve both complex and repetitive operational challenges through process improvement, automation, and AI.

What you'll be doing:

• Working closely with business stakeholders to deeply understand existing workflows, pain points, bottlenecks, and manual processes;
• Proactively identifying opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, or redesign processes, rather than only responding to predefined technical requirements;
• Translating operational problems into pragmatic AI powered tools, automations, and software solutions;
• Owning solutions end-to-end, from process discovery and solution design through implementation, deployment, adoption, and iteration;
• Building and integrating AI-driven applications using LLMs, APIs, internal systems, and workflow automation;
• Handling both front-end and back-end development when needed, ensuring seamless integration across our tech stack;
• Measuring the impact of implemented solutions and continuously improving them based on user feedback, operational metrics, and observed outcomes.

What you need to have:

• At least 3 years of experience in software engineering, automation, AI engineering, or a similarly technical role;
• Strong hands-on proficiency in JavaScript (React, Node.js) and/or Python;
• Experience building practical software solutions and integrating multiple systems through APIs;
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or equivalent models;
• Proficiency in SQL and confidence working with data to understand processes and measure outcomes;
• A strong continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to analyze how a process works today and identify ways to make it simpler, faster, more reliable, or more scalable;
• Experience working directly with business or operational stakeholders to turn ambiguous problems into concrete solutions;
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, particularly in environments where the problem is not fully defined upfront;
• High levels of ownership and autonomy, with a bias toward experimentation and execution;
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non technical teams.

What we would love to see:

• Experience with Lean, Kaizen, continuous improvement, process engineering, or operational excellence methodologies;
• Experience automating operational workflows or transforming manual business processes;
• Familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines and integrating structured and unstructured data into LLM workflows;
• Practical experience building or orchestrating AI agents;
• Experience with workflow automation platforms or agentic systems;
• Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud;
• Understanding of AI governance principles.
