SBM Offshore in Porto, Portugal is seeking a Discipline Lead Engineer with a strong background in oil and gas to deliver reliable, cost‑effective engineering solutions within project scope and international codes.

You will plan, execute, and optimize discipline activities, manage resources, and interface with clients and partners to ensure compliant delivery.

Qualificações

• Engineer diploma in a relevant discipline.
• 10 to 15 years of Oil & Gas industry experience.

Responsabilidades

• Select methods and procedures, perform the work, and optimize the design within discipline scope according to specifications, codes, standards and regulations.
• Proactively plan and complete discipline activities and deliverables within agreed time frame and budget.
• Define and manage discipline resource needs for the project.
• Ensure the Scope of Work is delivered per contractual and internal SBM requirements.
• Capture lessons learnt and understand change impact within and across project boundaries.
• Manage discipline interfaces, including third parties (clients, subcontractors, vendors, classification societies, regulators).
• Act as Principal for an assigned scope or as Technical Expert/Engineering Method Authority when designated.

Purpose

• The Discipline Lead Engineer's purpose is to deliver reliable, cost-effective, and safe engineering solutions that meet project objectives and contribute to the overall success and sustainability of the projects.

Responsibilities

• You are accountable for the selection of methods and procedures, performance of the work, and optimization of the design within the discipline scope of the specifications, in compliance with international codes, company and industry standards and regulations.
• You are accountable for proactively planning and completing discipline activities and deliverables within agreed time frame and budget.
• You are responsible for defining and managing the discipline resource needs for your project.
• You ensure that the discipline Scope of Work is delivered in accordance with both the contractual requirements and SBM’s internal requirements.
• You are responsible for capturing lessons learnt, understanding the change impact within and across project system boundaries.
• You are responsible for managing discipline interfaces, including third parties where applicable (clients, subcontractors, vendors, classification societies and regulatory bodies).
• You may act as Principal for an assigned scope of work and/or may be designated as a Technical Expert (TE) and/or Engineering Method Authority.

Education

• Engineer Diploma in relevant discipline.

Experience

• 10 to 15 years in Oil & Gas Industry.
