We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Mason to join our team in Funchal. As a Mason you will be responsible for constructing and repairing structures and surfaces using various materials such as brick, stone and concrete. Your work will help shape the landscape of the city and contribute to its development.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints or drawings to determine the materials required for a project.
• Measure and cut materials accurately to ensure they fit together properly.
• Lay out patterns or foundations using tools such as levels and plumb lines.
• Mix mortar or other adhesives according to specifications.
• Use hand tools or power tools to shape, cut and smooth materials.
• Build walls, floors, patios and other structures using bricks, stones or concrete blocks.
• Repair existing structures by replacing damaged bricks or stones.
• Install insulation to improve energy efficiency in buildings.
• Clean up job sites after completing work.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mason preferably in a construction setting.
• Ability to read blueprints and follow instructions accurately.
• Proficiency in working with various materials such as brick, stone and concrete.
• Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in masonry work.
• Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy materials and perform repetitive tasks.
• Attention to detail for precise measuring and cutting of materials.
• Good communication skills for working effectively with team members.
