Zühlke Group seeks a Lead IT Cloud Engineer to build and lead our enterprise cloud capability, focusing on Microsoft Azure. You will shape the technical foundation, governance, and operating model for cloud services while collaborating with Architects and IT domains.

You will drive Azure Landing Zones, security baselines, and automation, with exposure to AWS/Google Cloud. The role combines hands-on delivery with strategic leadership.

Qualificações

• Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Several years of hands-on experience building and operating enterprise cloud platforms, with strong Azure expertise.
• Experience designing Azure Landing Zones or equivalent foundations.
• Proficient with Infrastructure as Code and cloud automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Bicep).
• Ability to integrate cloud platforms with on-prem infrastructure, networking, and identity services.
• Nice to have experience with AWS or Google Cloud.

The role

We are looking for a Lead IT Cloud Engineer to establish and drive our enterprise Cloud capability within the IT Infrastructure Area.

This is a unique opportunity to build our Cloud Domain from the ground up. As our first dedicated IT Cloud Engineer, you will define the technical foundation, governance, standards, and operating model for enterprise cloud services in collaboration with our internal Architects. While Microsoft Azure will be your primary focus, you will help shape a cloud platform strategy that can evolve across multiple providers, including AWS, Google Cloud and other cloud platforms.

You will lead the design and implementation of our enterprise Cloud Platform, including Azure Landing Zones, governance, security baselines, connectivity, automation, and operational best practices. Working hands‑on, you will build a secure, scalable, and standardised cloud foundation that enables both our internal IT teams and the wider business to consume cloud services in a consistent, secure, and efficient way.

You will collaborate closely with other IT Domains, Security, Enterprise Applications, and business stakeholders to integrate cloud capabilities into our existing technology landscape while helping shape the strategic direction of our Cloud capability and services.

As the capability grows, this role offers the opportunity to help establish and further develop our Cloud Domain, including taking on additional leadership responsibilities.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• You establish and continuously evolve our enterprise Cloud Platform capability, building the technical foundation for secure, scalable, and standardised cloud services.
• You design, implement, and maintain Azure Landing Zones, governance frameworks, security guardrails, and platform standards that enable consistent cloud adoption across the organisation.
• You assess our current cloud landscape, identify opportunities for improvement, and define technical roadmaps, standards, and best practices for future cloud services.
• You design and implement secure cloud networking, identity integration, connectivity, monitoring, and operational capabilities in close collaboration with other Infrastructure Domains.
• You automate cloud provisioning, configuration, and operational processes using Infrastructure as Code and modern cloud engineering practices.
• You act as the technical lead for enterprise cloud topics, providing architectural guidance, technical expertise, and hands‑on implementation across cloud initiatives.
• You work closely with Infrastructure, Security, Enterprise Applications, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into secure, scalable, and operationally sustainable cloud solutions.
• You contribute to the definition of our cloud strategy, governance model, operating model, and service portfolio while ensuring alignment with business and technology objectives.
• You maintain high-quality documentation, technical standards, reference architectures, and operational procedures to ensure a sustainable and well‑governed cloud platform.
• You help shape and grow our Cloud Domain, laying the foundation for future cloud engineering capabilities and supporting the development of the team as the function evolves.

What’s Important To Us

• You have a degree or equivalent education in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• You bring several years of hands‑on experience designing, implementing, and operating enterprise cloud platforms, with strong expertise in Microsoft Azure.
• You have a solid understanding of enterprise cloud architecture, including governance, security, networking, identity, automation, and platform services.
• You have practical experience designing and implementing Azure Landing Zones or comparable enterprise cloud foundations.
• You are experienced with Infrastructure as Code and cloud automation technologies, such as Terraform, Bicep, or similar tools.
• You understand hybrid enterprise environments and know how to integrate cloud platforms with on‑premises infrastructure, networking, and identity services.
• Experience with additional cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud is highly valued.
• You enjoy building new capabilities, establishing standards, and turning complex technical challenges into practical, scalable solutions.
• You combine strong technical expertise with a structured, analytical, and pragmatic way of working.
• You communicate confidently in English and collaborate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and external partners.
