Shakers is seeking a Senior/Junior Full Stack Engineer to own architecture and drive secure, scalable features using Java Spring Boot and React.js in a hybrid Lisbon setting. You will shape IAM/SSO strategies, lead ADRs, and mentor teammates while collaborating with architects on long-term roadmaps.

Senior candidates bring 10+ years of full stack experience, deep API and microservices expertise, and strong capabilities in code reviews and quality automation.

The challenge

Both platforms are growing in complexity: microservices, event driven messaging, per brand access control and a front end that needs consistent engineering standards. The Senior profile owns the architecture and the IAM/SSO strategy. The Junior profile builds features across the stack and grows inside a team where code reviews, ADRs and quality automation are part of the daily routine.

What you will do

Senior track:

• Lead architecture and implementation of complex full stack features across EXPOSE and SEARCH
• Own the IAM/SSO strategy: Okta authorization server design, OIDC flow architecture, per brand access control
• Drive technical discussions with architects, produce ADRs and contribute to the long term roadmap
• Identify and resolve performance, scalability and security issues across the stack
• Lead code reviews and champion quality automation (SonarQube, Snyk)
• Mentor confirmed and junior engineers
• Produce technical documentation, runbooks and onboarding materials

Junior track:

• Develop and maintain backend services in Java Spring Boot and front end features in React.js
• Contribute to REST API development and integration with MongoDB and MySQL
• Work with Amazon SQS message flows inside the microservices architecture
• Write tests and take part in code reviews, applying the standards defined by the senior engineers
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to technical documentation
• Java Spring Boot and React.js in a real production environment
• Practical experience with relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL and MongoDB)
• Agile methodologies in a fast paced development environment
• English C1 and Portuguese C1

Senior profile

• 10+ years in full stack development
• Expert level Java Spring Boot: microservices design and robust, scalable and secure APIs
• Advanced React.js, including front end standards, authorization patterns and state management
• Okta / OIDC in depth: authorization server design and OIDC flow architecture

Junior profile

• 2+ years in full stack development
• Solid fundamentals in Java Spring Boot and working knowledge of React.js
• Exposure to microservices, REST APIs and cloud messaging
• Interest in authentication and authorization (Okta / OIDC), no prior architecture ownership required

Nice to have

• AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda)
• CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI), Docker and Kubernetes
• Performance, scalability and security tuning across the stack
• Mentoring and technical leadership (Senior profile)
