Hitachi Rail Portugal is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our team, supporting maintenance, installation and commissioning of railway signalling and telecom systems across the national network. The role is based in Coimbra, Santa Comba Dão and Pampilhosa.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnose faults, run tests, ensure first‑line incident support, assist on-site installation, coordinate with the Maintenance Centre and project teams, and comply with railway

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in railway signalling, electrotechnical systems, telecommunications, automation or related areas.
• Experience working on the National Railway Network (RFN) is a strong advantage.
• Valid certification in 'Segurança Ferroviária para Técnicos' (IET 77) or ability to obtain it.
• Fluent Portuguese and English.
• Valid driving licence and availability for on‑call rotations.

Responsabilidades

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on railway signalling and telecommunications systems.
• Diagnose faults, replace components, execute repairs and restore normal operation within contractual response times.
• Execute system tests, inspections, measurements and functional verifications following procedures and standards.
• Provide first‑line support for incidents on the National Railway Network (RFN).
• Support installation, integration and configuration of equipment on-site.
• Conduct commissioning activities including start-up, cabling checks and tests.
• Ensure compliance with railway safety rules and technical standards.
• Maintain accurate technical records, logs and reports.
• Coordinate with Maintenance Centre and project teams to resolve issues.
• Provide feedback to Engineering on recurrent problems and improvements.
• Ensure configuration control of installed equipment.
