Nimber is seeking a DevOps Support Engineer to provide technical and functional support for critical applications, proactively managing incidents and identifying effective solutions. You will drive automation, keep documentation up to date, and collaborate with development teams to improve live operations.

Based in Porto with a hybrid work model, this role requires 3+ years of Linux/Windows administration, scripting in Shell/Python/PowerShell, database and monitoring experience, and a DevOps

Qualificações

• Minimum 3 years of experience in similar roles.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows system administration.
• Experience with scheduling tools such as BMC Control-M.
• Proficient in scripting languages: Shell, Python and/or PowerShell.
• Experience with servers and web technologies (JBoss, Tomcat, Apache or IIS).
• Experience with databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
• Familiar with monitoring tools (Zabbix or Grafana) and backups.
• Good understanding of LDAP, Firewall, Reverse proxy, Active Directory and Kerberos.
• Knowledge of container-based infrastructure and basic networking.
• Excellent communication in English (minimum B2) and DevOps mindset.

Responsabilidades

• Effectively manage and solve production incidents.
• Coordinate changes and technical operations (electrical shutdown, servers mode, etc.).
• Participate in change management (applications and infrastructure), collaborating with development, sysadmin, DBA and networking teams.
• Keep documentation up to date: document the components and operations of the applications (architecture, procedures, supervision need).
• Manage backup data and ensure regular restoring tests.
• Monitor applications and infrastructure per SLA for all business lines.
• Control load capacity for the applications.
• Participate on the system of on-call and off-hours interventions.
• Contribute consistently to the continuous automation and improvement of existing procedures.
• Work closely with the development teams on defining the architecture of new applications, according to the infrastructure standards.

Location: Oporto - Hybrid

Job Summary

We are looking for an Application Support Engineer responsible for providing technical and functional support for critical applications, proactively managing incidents and identifying effective solutions for recurring issues. The role includes continuously improving and automating support procedures, maintaining up-to-date documentation, developing strong application knowledge, and ensuring regular follow-up with development activities and application changes.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in similar roles;
• Good knowledge on both Linux and Windows environments and systems administration;
• Experience with BMC/Control-M or other industrial scheduler;
  Good knowledge of scripting languages (Shell, Python and/or PowerShell);
• Experience with JBoss, TomCat, Apache or IIS;
• Experience with databases (Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server and/or MySQL) and basic SQL knowledge;
• Experience with Infrastructure backups;
• Experience with monitoring tools (ideally Zabbix or Grafana);
• Knowledge of LDAP, Firewall, Reverse proxy, Active Directory and Kerberos;
• Knowledge on container-based infrastructure;
• Basic networking knowledge;
• Good level of English - minimum B2 (mandatory);
• DevOps mindset;
• Ability to keep up with a demanding and fast-paced environment;
• Willingness to learn and evolve;
• Good communication skills;
• Ability to work in a team.
