Capgemini Engineering Portugal is seeking a Database Administrator to safeguard availability, performance, security, and integrity of critical database platforms. Hybrid work from Lisbon supports collaboration with Dev, Systems and Infra teams.

This role focuses on administering and optimizing MySQL/Redis, monitoring with Prometheus/Grafana, backups and IaC automation, and a proactive, cross-functional approach to high-availability operations.

Qualificações

• At least 3 years of database administration experience in critical environments.
• Hands-on knowledge of MySQL and Redis.
• Experience with container orchestration and messaging systems is required.

YOUR ROLE

In this role you will play a key role in ensuring the availability, performance, security and integrity of the database platforms that support critical services.

In this role you will play a key role in:

• Administering, maintaining and optimising database platforms in critical and high-availability environments, ensuring continuity of service at all times


• Proactively monitoring system performance using tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, identifying and resolving bottlenecks before they impact operations


• Managing backup strategies and data recovery processes, guaranteeing data integrity and business continuity


• Automating operational tasks through scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort


• Collaborating closely with Development, Systems and Infrastructure teams to implement best practices in database operations and security

YOUR PROFILE

• At least 3 years of experience in database administration in critical environments, with solid hands‑on knowledge of MySQL and Redis


• Proven experience working with containerised and orchestrated environments, particularly Kubernetes, and messaging systems such as RabbitMQ


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex incidents and deliver effective solutions under pressure


• Experience with cloud or containerised environments is a plus, as well as a proactive mindset, adaptability, and a collaborative approach to teamwork


• Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks, with a strong sense of commitment, professionalism and attention to detail
