BoldSphere is seeking a Data Engineer / Platform Engineer to join a data-focused technology environment in Portugal. You will contribute to the development, automation, and maintenance of cloud data platforms and ingestion pipelines.

In this role you will work with Google Cloud Platform, Terraform, Argo Workflows, and modern data transformation practices, building scalable data infrastructure and ensuring reliability and security.

Qualificações

• Hands-on data engineering experience.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, Cloud Storage.
• Strong Terraform and IaC knowledge.
• CI/CD practices using Git/GitLab.
• Experience with Argo Workflows or similar workflow tools.
• Proficient in Python and SQL.
• Docker and Kubernetes experience.
• dbt data transformations, testing, and documentation.

Responsabilidades

• Design, implement, and maintain data infrastructure and services on GCP.
• Manage GCP projects, Cloud Storage buckets, BigQuery datasets and tables.
• Develop infrastructure with Terraform (buckets, datasets, labels, modules, permissions, secrets, transfer jobs).
• Develop and manage data ingestion pipelines using Argo Workflows and YAML workflows.
• Contribute to CI/CD and version control via Git/GitLab.
• Develop and maintain data processing solutions using Python, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Build and manage data transformation workflows with dbt, including SQL development, testing, and documentation.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, security, and maintainability of the data platform.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Data Engineer / Platform Engineer to join a data-focused technology environment, contributing to the development, automation, and maintenance of cloud data platforms and ingestion pipelines.

The role combines Data Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, and DevOps, with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform, Infrastructure as Code, workflow orchestration, and modern data transformation practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain data infrastructure and services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Manage GCP Projects, Cloud Storage Buckets, BigQuery Datasets and Tables.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure using Terraform, including buckets, datasets, labels, modules, permissions, secrets, and transfer jobs.
• Develop and manage data ingestion pipelines using Argo Workflows and YAML-based workflow definitions.
• Contribute to CI/CD processes and version control using Git/GitLab, including commits and merge requests.
• Develop and maintain data processing solutions using Python, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Build and manage data transformation workflows using dbt, including SQL development, automated testing, documentation, and version control.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, security, and maintainability of the data platform.

Requirements:

• Professional experience as a Data Engineer, Platform Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or similar role.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, particularly BigQuery and Cloud Storage.
• Strong knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code principles.
• Experience with Git/GitLab and CI/CD practices.
• Experience with Argo Workflows or similar workflow orchestration tools.
• Good programming skills in Python and strong SQL knowledge.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Practical experience with dbt, including data transformations, testing, and documentation.
• Good understanding of cloud-based data engineering architectures.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with GCP security, IAM, permissions, and secrets management.
• Experience working in Agile/DevOps environments.
• Knowledge of data governance and data quality practices.
