The successful candidate will provide essential on-site technical support, manage server installations, conduct hardware troubleshooting, and ensure client access coordination at local data centers. Key skills required include hands-on data center experience and strong communication in English. Relevant certifications are preferred, along with the ability to lift heavy equipment and manage urgent requests during weekends or holidays.

The Role

We're looking for a skilled Data Center Technician in Carnaxide, Portugal to provide on-site technical support at local data center facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Remote Hands & Smart Hands support (cabling, power cycling, hardware swaps)

• Server rack installation and decommissioning

• Cross-connect and patch panel management

• Hardware troubleshooting and diagnostics

• Visual inspections and inventory audits

• Escort and access coordination for client visits

• Emergency response and on-call availability

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with data center infrastructure

• Knowledge of server hardware, networking, and cabling standards

• Reliable transportation and proximity to local data centers

• Strong communication skills in English

• Ability to lift 25kg+ equipment

• Flexible availability including weekends/holidays for urgent requests

Nice to Have

• Certifications: CompTIA Server+, Network+, CDCP, CCNA

• Experience at major DC providers (Equinix, Digital Realty, NTT, CyrusOne)

• Structured cabling expertise (fiber, Cat6, DAC)
