Beyond Vision seeks an Autonomous Navigation and Control Engineer in Lisbon, Portugal to develop and improve guidance, navigation and flight-control for unmanned aerial systems. This role focuses on autonomous flight algorithms, control systems and autopilot integration rather than piloting.

You will design and tune flight-control algorithms, develop guidance and state estimation, and validate solutions through SITL and flight testing, collaborating with software, hardware and operations teams.

Qualificações

• Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of control theory and autonomous navigation.
• Experience with PID controllers and tuning.
• Experience with UAV autopilots and MAVLink.
• Familiarity with Gazebo and SITL (ArduPilot/PX4).
• Experience with C++, Python or C.
• Ability to analyze telemetry and flight data.

Responsabilidades

• Design, implement and tune flight-control algorithms.
• Develop guidance and autonomous navigation functions.
• Work with PID and cascaded control architectures.
• Develop state-estimation and sensor-fusion algorithms.
• Integrate algorithms with flight-controller platforms (ArduPilot, PX4).
• Analyze flight logs and optimize system performance.
• Validate solutions with SITL/HIL and flight testing.
• Develop fail-safe and degraded-mode behaviours.
• Collaborate with embedded software, perception, hardware and operations teams.
