Celfocus in Lisbon is seeking an Application Security Intern to assist the security team in identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities across software applications. You’ll support secure code reviews, participate in penetration testing, and help spread security best practices across the development lifecycle.

Ideal candidates bring knowledge of OWASP Top 10, basic CI/CD, Git, and cloud familiarity, plus fluent English and a hunger to learn in a fast-paced setting.

The opportunity

As an Application Security Intern, you will assist the security team in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating security vulnerabilities in software applications. Your responsibilities may include supporting secure code reviews, participating in penetration testing, researching common threats, and helping implement security best practices across the development lifecycle.

What you’ll bring

• Knowledge of secure coding practices and web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).




• Familiarity with OWASP Top 10 and basic vulnerability types (XSS, SQL Injection, etc.).




• Experience with Git and basic CI/CD concepts.




• Basic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).




• Self-motivated and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.




• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.




• Effective communication and collaboration within diverse teams.




• Fluent in English, both verbal and written.




• Ability to adapt and quickly acquire new technical skills.
