Job summary

Vector Synergy is seeking a VMware Engineer to be based in Warsaw. The role focuses on administering VMware vSphere environments, monitoring, patching, backups, and capacity planning, while coordinating with multiple IT teams.

The ideal candidate will have VMware VCP-DCV 6.X or higher, strong TCP/IP networking knowledge, and experience with ITIL-based change and release management processes. A proactive, collaborative mindset is essential.

Responsibilities

• Administering the virtual computing environment (such as VMware vSphere).
• Administering monitoring solutions for virtual environments.
• Patch management.
• Managing backups and restores; administering, supporting, and monitoring hardware servers, fibre optic fabrics and data storage.
• Troubleshooting of virtual environments.
• Tuning, optimizing and capacity planning.
• Recommending and implementing best practices and security standards.
• Updating the technical documentation and operating procedures.
• Implementing changes according to ICT change management procedures.
• Providing 2nd line support to other IT teams and coordinating with 3rd line of support.
• Participation in coordination and project meetings.

Knowledge

• Vmware VCP-DCV 6.X or higher or related similar certificate
• Experience in administration of complex and large virtual environments (such as VMware vSphere or Nutanix)
• Experience with virtual environments' monitoring tools (such as VMware Aria Operations)
• Experience updating and upgrading virtual environments and related products
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking
• Experience in collaborating with multiple support groups
• Experience with ticketing systems and ITIL based change management, configuration management and release management processes
