Job summary

Slate is building a video and rendering platform powering a collaborative video editor across web, iOS, and native runtimes. You’ll work on FFmpeg integrations, WebAssembly pipelines, and a Skia-based renderer, targeting WebGPU/WebGL and arm64 native platforms.

The role sits at the crossroads of systems programming, graphics rendering, and cross-platform integration, with responsibilities spanning encoding workflows, WebCodecs usage, and iOS integration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional programming experience.

Responsibilities

• Build the video processing engine with encoding, decoding, and transcoding workflows using FFmpeg.
• Develop the cross-platform rendering engine with Skia across browsers and native runtimes.
• Push the boundaries of browser-based video via WebAssembly, Emscripten, and WebCodecs.
• Integrate iOS native code with TypeScript APIs in Angular web app.
• Obsess over performance, memory, and observability across the full stack.
• Collaborate with editor engineers to ship video and rendering features.
