Job description

Technical Project Manager (Data & AI)

At Roche you can show up as yourself, embraced for the unique qualities you bring. We encourage personal expression, open dialogue, and genuine connections, where you are valued, accepted and respected for who you are, allowing you to thrive both personally and professionally.

About the Role

As a Technical Project Manager (Data & AI), you will lead medium‑to‑large‑scale initiatives within our RDT Data & AI function. You will operate across a versatile framework, acting as a trusted advisor who connects complex data capabilities with enterprise strategic goals. The role requires a hybrid work model with employees onsite in our Warsaw office for an average of two days per week.

Responsibilities
  1. Independently define, manage, and control the scope of medium‑to‑large initiatives, aligning technical delivery with overall strategic business objectives.
  2. Plan and execute Global Data Strategy work packages by actively managing intricate cross‑stream dependencies, resource planning, and backlog management.
  3. Proactively identify, analyze, and mitigate scope‑related risks to manage technical changes smoothly in a fast‑paced environment.
  4. Provide flexible and adaptive PMO support, shifting seamlessly from active governance (driving metrics, executive slide creation, process engineering) to passive roadmap tracking for core engineering deliveries.
  5. Manage the delivery of complex features, services, or technical releases, including service transitions or Agile Release Train increments.
  6. Provide specialized PMO leadership by coordinating and driving the implementation of enterprise data policies, content strategies, and cultural change management initiatives.
  7. Orchestrate and drive workstreams focused on Metadata Management, Master Data Management (MDM), and Policy‑Based Access Control (PBAC).
  8. Partner closely with the Head of Data Governance, orchestrating GDS networks, fostering internal Communities of Practice, and mentoring engineering colleagues to build team accountability and spirit.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 5+ years of experience operating across multiple delivery management archetypes (e.g., Technical Project Manager, Scrum Master, Release Train Engineer).
  • Proven track record in Technical PMO and work‑package orchestration, specifically managing intricate cross‑stream dependencies, resource allocation, and backlog tracking for technical engineering deliverables.
  • Demonstrated capability in translating business needs into technical roadmaps, converting high‑level data strategies into actionable engineering sprint plans.
  • Solid foundational data literacy in data management principles—including PBAC, MDM, and Data Governance—enabling you to speak the same language as data architects, engineers, and data scientists.
  • Hands‑on command of modern Agile and PMO collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps) paired with sharp analytical skills for root‑cause problem solving.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with a natural inclination toward community orchestration, leadership support, executive presentation synthesis, and building Communities of Practice.
Benefits
  • Salary range 14 000 – 26 000 PLN gross based on the employment contract.
  • Annual bonus payment based on performance (target 15%).
  • Dedicated training budget (certifications, conferences, diversified career paths, etc.).
  • Recharge Fridays (two Fridays off per quarter available).
  • Take‑time program (up to three months of leave for any purpose).
  • Vacation subsidy available.
  • Flexible location – possibility to work from different places worldwide for a limited period.
  • Take‑time for charity (up to two weeks of paid leave to engage in a chosen charity activity).
  • Private health‑care (LuxMed packages), group life insurance (UNUM), and Multisport.
