Job summary

A Technical Program Manager is needed in Akamai's Cloud Technology Group to plan, coordinate, and deliver major projects and products across engineering and product teams. You will drive end-to-end delivery, advance program governance, and coach teams in Agile practices to improve predictability and efficiency.

You will collaborate with stakeholders globally, manage dependencies, and use Jira/Confluence for dashboards and reporting, while advocating operational excellence and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering complex, cross-functional engineering programs.
• Ability to balance strategic leadership with operational Agile team support.
• Deep knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and delivery improvement.
• Proactive risk, issue, dependency, and blocker management in technical environments.
• Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with stakeholders.
• Experience using AI-powered tools to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
• Scrum Master certifications (PSM I, CSM) and team facilitation skills.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of complex technical programs across cross-functional teams.
• Develop and maintain program plans, milestones, dependencies, and workflows.
• Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and blockers; report status to leadership.
• Act as Scrum Master; coach teams and Product Owners for Scrum maturity.
• Optimize PMO processes and engineering workflows for better delivery.
• Establish governance and executive status reporting; manage dashboards (Jira, Confluence).
• Foster a transparent, collaborative environment and resolve conflicts.

Serve as a Technical Program Manager within the Cloud Technology Group. Plan, coordinate, execute, and deliver significant projects, products, and solutions. Develop products deployed on Akamai's Global Network and leading media and entertainment company sites worldwide.

As a Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Owning and driving end-to-end delivery of complex technical programs, ensuring alignment with Engineering and Product leadership on objectives, roadmaps, and priorities.

• Developing and maintaining program plans, milestones, dependencies, and workflows across cross-functional engineering teams.

• Identifying proactively, tracking, and mitigating risks, issues, dependencies, and blockers in complex environments.

• Acting as a Scrum Master, facilitating ceremonies and coaching teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders to improve Scrum maturity and team autonomy.

• Identifying opportunities to optimize PMO processes, execution workflows, and engineering effectiveness across the organization.

• Establishing effective program governance, executive status reporting, and manage project dashboards using Jira, Confluence, and other tools.

• Building a trusting, high-transparency environment, guiding teams in conflict resolution, operational excellence, and delivery predictability.

• Have proven experience driving complex, cross-functional engineering or networking programs from initial planning through successful delivery.

• Possess hands‑on ability to operate comfortably in a dual role, balancing strategic program leadership with operational Agile team support.

• Demonstrate deep knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) with the capacity to improve team delivery predictability, transparency, and operational efficiency.

• Show a proactive approach to identifying, tracking, and resolving risks, issues, dependencies, and execution blockers in technical environments.

• Possess communication, presentation, and negotiation skills to influence and align engineering, product, release, and leadership teams.

• Demonstrate practical knowledge of AI-powered tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini) to automate routine tasks, increase efficiency, and enhance program effectiveness.

• Have Scrum Master (PSM I, CSM) and skills in team facilitation, conflict resolution, and continuous process improvement.
