Job summary

ALTEN Polska in Kraków seeks an experienced Business Analyst with a Data Analytics/Platform background to lead initiatives enhancing data ingestion, data products, data quality, and integration with Google Cloud and Hadoop. You will translate complex business needs into scalable data solutions and collaborate with data engineers and business users.

You will elicit requirements, define project scope, document governance, and ensure traceability throughout delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering BA services for change initiatives with multiple internal/external organisations.
• Ability to lead brainstorming, process mappings, workshops, and Agile story mappings.
• Strong understanding of data lifecycle and data architectures; experience in data or data analytics projects.

Responsibilities

• Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, workshops, and process analysis.
• Define project requirements and scope with business stakeholders.
• Communicate progress, estimates, and updates to stakeholders and senior management with documentation and presentations.

Job description

You will be an experienced Business Analyst, ideally coming from a Data Analytics/Platform background, you will lead initiatives that enhance the firm’s data ingestion, data products, data quality processes, and integration with key platforms such as Google Cloud and Hadoop. You will collaborate closely with data engineers and business users to translate complex business needs into scalable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Elicit requirements using appropriate methods including interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process and workflow analysis.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to define project requirements and scope.
• Work closely with the Pod Delivery Manager to communicate project progress, estimates, and updates to stakeholders and senior management, including creating documentation and presentations as needed.
• Support the project with analysis, testing, organisational and project-administration skills as required.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery using Agile methodologies.
• Gather, analyse, manipulate and document data – be able to translate this into technical specifications for data engineers to implement.
• Ensure all requirements, process flows, and solution designs are clearly documented to agreed standards, maintaining traceability throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Adhere to and promote data governance standards, ensuring data definitions, lineage, and quality considerations are incorporated into project deliverables.
• Produce high-quality documentation including business requirements, data dictionaries, source-to-target mappings, process flows, and user guides, ensuring consistent standards across tech solutions.

Desired Skills / Experience

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with audiences of varying levels of business and technical understanding and seniority.
• Experience of delivering Business Analysis services for change initiatives that require engagement with multiple internal/external organisations.
• Experienced in leading brainstorming, process mappings, workshops, and Agile story mappings.
• Experience in software delivery projects, ideally in Data or Data Analysis area.
• Strong understanding of Data and data lifecycle in general.
• Experience of working as part of an Agile Tech Delivery team.
• Experience of developing solutions integrating third party data.
• Experience of working with Databases, SQL, GCP BQ
• Understanding of Data architecture concepts
