Job summary

SOFTSWISS is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to build, maintain, and evolve reliable infrastructure for our platform. The role focuses on Kubernetes platform design (Cluster API), GitOps, and IaC to support production and staging environments.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in System/DevOps roles, strong Linux skills, and hands-on experience with Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and CI/CD pipelines. The position involves on-call duties and close collaboration with the Sportsbook team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a System Engineer, SRE, DevOps or Platform Engineer.
• Deep understanding of Linux-based systems and administration.
• Practical experience with Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, OCI).
• Experience with Terraform, Pulumi, or Crossplane for IaC.
• Experience with GitOps (Flux, ArgoCD) and GitLab/GitHub CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, deployment and management of Kubernetes platform based on Cluster API (bare-metal and cloud providers).
• Setup and maintenance of infrastructure for production/staging environments.
• Design, deployment and management of GitLab CI pipelines, GitOps and Infrastructure as Code.
• React to monitoring events (on-call day/night) and respond to incidents.
• Optimize infrastructure maintenance and support processes.
• Participate in the design of complex IT systems.

SOFTSWISS is looking for a skilled Systems Engineer to join our team and help build, maintain, and evolve reliable infrastructure for our platform.

The Sportsbook team develops a powerful software platform that enables clients to launch and manage successful online sports betting businesses. We are looking for a motivated professional who is passionate about infrastructure, automation, and building scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities:

• Communication and collaboration with product development team and stakeholders

• Design, deployment and management of Kubernetes platform based on Cluster API (bare-metal and cloud providers)

• Setup and maintenance of infrastructure for production/staging environments

• Design, deployment and management of GitLab CI pipelines, GitOps and Infrastructure as Code

• React to monitoring events (periodic on-call duties day/night)

• Optimization of infrastructure maintenance and support processes

• Participation in the design of complex IT systems

Required Experience:

• 5+ years of experience as a System Engineer, SRE, DevOps or Platform Engineer

• Deep understanding of Linux-like operating systems (administration and troubleshooting)

• Practical experience with Kubernetes

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, OCI)

• Experience with bare-metal infrastructure (various hosting providers)

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi, Crossplane)

• Experience with GitOps approach (Flux, ArgoCD)

• Experience with GitLab/GitHub CI/CD pipelines setup and maintenance

• Experience with configuration management systems (Ansible, Saltstack)

• Experience with cdn, traffic and domain management (CloudFlare, Fastly, Akamai, AWS CloudFront/Route53)

• Experience with monitoring systems (Prometheus, Grafana and similar)

• Practical experience with PostgreSQL cluster (Patroni, CNPG)

• Practical experience with Kafka management (Kafka, Strimzi)

• English and Russian language B1+ level (Intermediate+)
