Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. is seeking a Supply Chain Engineering Specialist to bridge engineering, supply chain, and new product development. You will ensure prototype materials quality, build strong supplier partnerships, and drive supply chain execution throughout the product lifecycle.

You will work with R&D, engineering, manufacturing, and procurement to develop next-generation energy solutions, strengthening supplier capabilities and optimizing performance in a dynamic, international environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in engineering, supply chain, procurement, manufacturing, or NPD environments.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as casting, machining, forging, welding, and surface treatment.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and familiarity with PPAP and Lean Six Sigma.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and project coordination skills.
• Fluent in English and willing to travel to supplier locations as required.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Supply Chain representative within new product development projects, ensuring alignment between engineering and supply chain objectives.
• Drive supplier selection, qualification, and development activities for prototype and production components.
• Manage sourcing and procurement of prototype materials, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with suppliers and project teams to resolve technical, quality, and supply challenges throughout the development process.
• Lead SCM-related project activities, including material planning, cost tracking, PPAP coordination, and documentation management.
• Coordinate logistics, inventory, and forecasting activities to support prototype and development programs.
• Partner with global category managers, manufacturing teams, and engineering stakeholders to leverage the best supplier network.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance supplier performance, product quality, and supply chain efficiency.

Working closely with R&D, engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams, you will contribute to the development of next-generation energy solutions while strengthening supplier capabilities and optimizing supply chain performance. This role offers the opportunity to combine technical expertise, project coordination, and supplier management in a dynamic and international environment.

How You Will Make an Impact

Your Background

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in engineering, supply chain, procurement, manufacturing, or new product development environments
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as casting, machining, forging, welding, and surface treatment
• Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP) and familiarity with quality methodologies such as PPAP and Lean Six Sigma
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and project coordination skills
• Fluent in English and willing to travel to supplier locations as required
