Job summary

OPmobility is seeking a Supplier Quality Development Engineer to lead supplier quality activities from prototype to SOP and beyond. You will drive APQP/PPAP with suppliers, conduct audits, manage risks, and coordinate readiness for production launches across cross-functional teams.

Strong automotive QA experience and GD&T literacy are essential. You will collaborate with Purchasing, Engineering and Quality teams, supporting continuous improvements and cost optimization while ensuring robust PPAP

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, technical, or related field.
• 3–5 years in Supplier Quality/Quality Engineering in automotive.
• Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, supplier audits, and quality tools.
• Ability to read drawings and understand GD&T concepts.
• MSA, statistical analysis, and problem-solving methodologies.
• Strong analytical thinking, decision-making and prioritization.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

• Support and coordinate supplier quality development activities from prototype phase through PPAP approval and SOP + 6 months.
• Drive APQP and PPAP processes with suppliers, ensuring compliance with quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
• Conduct supplier assessments, process audits, and risk evaluations during sourcing and development phases.
• Monitor supplier performance and implement improvement actions to support quality, delivery, and cost optimization.
• Coordinate supplier readiness for production launch and manage handovers to manufacturing plants.
• Review and validate PPAP documentation, samples, and project quality milestones.
• Identify risks, elevate issues, and drive corrective action plans with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
• Collaborate closely with Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, and Supplier Development teams to ensure successful project execution.

Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, technical, or a related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, or a similar role within the automotive industry.
• Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, supplier audits, and quality tools.
• Ability to read technical drawings and understand GD&T principles.
• Familiarity with MSA, statistical analysis, and problem-solving methodologies.
• Strong analytical thinking, decision-making, and prioritization skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Quality certifications (CQE, CQA) are considered an advantage.
• Willingness to travel.
