Job summary

Google's Vertex AI SRE team in Warsaw seeks a Staff Software Engineer to strengthen reliability and performance of our vast AI workloads. You will design, build, and operate large-scale distributed systems, partnering with product and platform teams to ensure scalable, resilient services.

You will lead initiatives, analyze complex systems, mentor engineers, and drive automation to reduce toil. Fluency in English required; Polish location in Warsaw is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• At least 5 years of software development in one or more languages.
• At least 3 years of leading projects and distributed systems design.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end reliability, scalability, and performance of large-scale AI workloads on Vertex AI.
• Architect and operate fleet management automation for GCP/GKE environments.
• Improve low-latency AI serving infrastructure for high throughput and observability.
• Collaborate with development teams on system design, capacity planning, and launch reviews.
• Scale systems sustainably by reducing toil and driving deployment velocity.

Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) combines software and systems engineering to build and run large-scale, massively distributed, fault‑tolerant systems. SRE ensures that Google Cloud's services—both our internally critical and our externally‑visible systems—have reliability, uptime appropriate to customer's needs and a fast rate of improvement. • Drive the end‑to‑end reliability, scalability, and performance of large‑scale Models and Artificial Intelligence (AI) workloads on Vertex AI.
• Architect and operate fleet management automation to securely manage, monitor, and upgrade one of the world's largest Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) environments.
