Job summary

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• 3 years of experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or a related technical field.
• Experience with cluster management system and Google Cloud interactions.
• Experience with load balancing, high-availability, and scalable system design.
• Experience with performance analysis and optimization (e.g., Dapper, pprof).
• Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or Production Engineering practices, such as managing system reliability, uptime and performance, as well as on-call and incident-response.

Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) combines software and systems engineering to build and run large-scale, massively distributed, fault-tolerant systems. SRE ensures that Google Cloud's services—both our internally critical and our externally-visible systems—have reliability, uptime appropriate to customer's needs and a fast rate of improvement. Additionally SRE’s will keep an ever-watchful eye on our systems capacity and performance.

Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform (Vertex AI) is Google Cloud's flagship AI platform, offering a suite of tools and services for the entire ML lifecycle. This includes everything from data preparation and experimentation to training, tuning, and serving models at scale. Vertex AI supports platforms for third-party (3P) models, including popular open-source models from Model Garden and enterprise-grade models from partners like Anthropic.

In this role, you will ensure the rock-solid reliability and performance of the infrastructure underpinning these third-party model deployments, with a focus on our GKE-based serving stack.
