Job summary

InPost Group is hiring a Staff Software Engineer, Devops to shape the fintech platform's infrastructure, deployment, and reliability across Payments Core, Merchant, and Consumer. You will drive architecture decisions, tooling, and standards to scale operations in a hybrid Warsaw-based setup.

You will mentor teams, collaborate with security and compliance, and lead cross-team technical initiatives toward robust, scalable services for an AI-native engineering organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software or platform engineering.
• 2+ years cross-team technical leadership or architecture authority.
• 3+ years building infrastructure for distributed payments or fintech systems.
• Deep expertise in container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• CI/CD pipeline design and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
• Cloud architecture evaluation and operation at scale (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Observability, SRE, monitoring, and incident response experience.
• Security and compliance architecture (PCI DSS/PSD2).
• Excellent technical writing (ADRs, RFCs).
• English proficiency at B2 or above.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain infrastructure architecture across cloud topology, networking, deployment pipelines, and IaC patterns.
• Author ADRs and RFCs for infrastructure decisions and document trade-offs.
• Evaluate cloud service choices, container orchestration, observability stacks, and cost optimization.
• Own the evolution of the agentic engineering harness' infrastructure layer including CI/CD, sandboxing, tool-execution environments, and guardrails.
• Drive org-wide technical change by defining golden paths and ensuring adoption across teams.
• Provide technical input into platform and product strategy; mentor on reliability, security, and operational excellence.

Staff Software Engineer, Devops - Fintech Platform (m/f/n)

InPost Pay is building its own fintech platform from the ground up. It’s a large-scale, international initiative where engineers will have the opportunity to shape the architecture, build core fintech components, and create solutions designed to operate at InPost’s scale.

We’re building a lean, highly effective engineering organization in Poland, with AI-native engineering at its core. We’re looking for strong engineers who are comfortable with agentic engineering, from experienced professionals building complex systems and engineering tooling to a new generation of engineers who have embraced AI-driven development from the start of their careers.

InPost FinTech is looking for a Staff Engineer to define the technical direction for our infrastructure, deployment, and operational reliability - across Payments Core, Merchant, and Consumer. You'll multiply team output through infrastructure architecture clarity, engineering standards, and cross-team technical leadership, while owning the evolution of the agentic engineering harness's operational backbone.

You’ll own the evolution of fundamental infrastructure and platform decisions across the organisation — cloud topology, deployment pipelines, observability, and security posture — ensuring they’re sound, defensible, and viable for the long term. You’ll report to the Senior Engineering Manager and act as the technical throughline between engineering teams, security, and compliance.

Hybrid working model: preferably 1 day per week in the Warsaw or Cracow office.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain infrastructure architecture across the area: cloud topology, networking, environment strategy, deployment pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code patterns across multiple teams
• Author Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and RFCs for infrastructure and platform decisions, facilitating technical decision-making across teams with documented reasoning and clear trade-off analysis
• Evaluate and decide on fundamental infrastructure trade-offs: cloud service selection, container orchestration, message broker topology, observability stack, and cost optimisation
• Own the evolution of the agentic engineering harness's infrastructure layer — CI/CD integration, agent sandboxing, tool-execution environments, and guardrails; instrument adoption and friction, and drive improvements with data
• Drive org-wide technical change: define golden paths and paved roads for deployment and operations, build the case, and see adoption through across teams without direct authority
• Provide technical input into platform and product strategy; mentor engineers on reliability, security, and operational excellence through design reviews and pairing

Requirements

• 8+ years in software or platform engineering, including 2+ years in cross-team technical leadership or architecture authority
• 3+ years building infrastructure for distributed payments or fintech systems
• Deep expertise in container orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes), CI/CD pipeline design, and infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform)
• Cloud architecture evaluation and operation (AWS / GCP / Azure) at organisation scale
• Observability and SRE practices: monitoring, alerting, incident response, and SLO design
• Security and compliance architecture: secrets management, network security, and controls relevant to PCI DSS / PSD2
• Experience designing or evolving the infrastructure layer of an agentic engineering harness — sandboxing, tool-execution environments, guardrails
• Database and message-broker operational trade‑off reasoning at scale
• Excellent technical writing — ADRs, RFCs, and design docs for multiple audiences
• English proficiency at B2 or above
• University degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field

Nice to have

• 2+ years in platform or internal developer tooling engineering
• 1+ years of agentic/LLM system design experience
• Kafka or equivalent streaming architecture experience at scale
• Service-mesh architecture experience
• Open-source contributions or technical publishing
